Prima donna is the anthem of the unheard. But this latest release by Manchester Electronic weirdos Chrysalid Homo, is not only a call to arms, but a biography of the lost and forgotten. The story of our Prima donna begins, as many do, on a council estate and ends with our protagonist’s queer awakening. The heroism of the LGBTQ struggles are one and the same with those of the working class but
the solidarity shown between the two is overlooked or ignored by history.

As always, Chrysalid Homo deliver a catchy yet jarring slice of electronic nourishment. The lyrics tell the story of a young person on a journey to discover himself. The story is littered with moments of nihilistic absurdity found only in a life that is punctuated by brushes with a late stage system that doesn’t care.

I'm a prima donna is the foreground noise to a generation of alienation.
